Intermediate Tango

Tango has a firm, compact hold which separates it from other ballroom dances. This look embellishes upon masculinity and femininity and the passion between the two. With no rise and fall, steps in this dance are taken in a fast, staccato action; moving counter-clockwise around the floor. In the intermediate group level, the instructors will cover an amalgamation from the Associate Bronze level as well as layer technique and styling for your dancing comfort.

The Tango became popular in the brothels of Brazil and was originally danced in a circle around a table. It has since evolved to dance around a ballroom floor. The word Tango likely came from the Brazilian population of African descent who combined the Spanish word for “drum” with the name of their drum god.
