A couples’ first dance as man and wife is fast becoming the most memorable part of a wedding ceremony. That’s why couples that want to give a polished and beautiful performance on their wedding day are choosing to undergo lessons to help make that dream performance become a reality. Feeling confident and poised when you dance together at your wedding will ensure that your first dance as husband and wife will be a memory you will cherish forever.

Have a special song for your first dance?

If you plan to dance to a special song, please bring a recording of it to your dance lessons so you and your teacher can be prepared. Your teacher will help you decide what type of dance will work best for your special song. He or she will also help you determine if a choreographed (planned) routine or random dance patterns done spontaneously is best for you. If you are still unsure about your song, your teacher will be happy to make suggestions regarding the music for your first dance.

Don’t wait until the last minute!

Most couples only give themselves a month or two to prepare for their wedding. However, it takes time to learn the steps and dance them comfortably and naturally. Dance instructors recommend starting at least six to eight months earlier to allow more time for practice, especially if you are a newcomer to dancing. However, if you find yourself in a last minute crunch, we’re at your service!

Dance lessons are supposed to be fun and stress free!

The more time you give yourself, the more fun you’ll have and the more prepared you’ll feel for your big day. This will also be a new skill that you can use together for a lifetime. Many couples that come in for their wedding dance continue to take lessons well after their wedding.
